Truly get away from it all in Allegany

     Take a hike up Golden & Silver Falls, walk up and down the river collecting bits of driftwood and watch the crawdads hunt the shallows.  Go fishing or swimming.  You can have a game of horseshoes in the back yard, (Jeff could be talked into joining you if you want more competition), or a relaxing snooze in the hammock.

     If you're an author or artist use Sandy's Little River House as a retreat and let the creative juices flow.  You will have the kind of quiet and privacy it's hard to find anywhere else with the river and forest as a backdrop.

     If you're a hunter or serious fishing enthusiast use this as your base camp.  You can come and go as you please and have Sandy make to-go lunches and have a hot and hearty meal ready for you when you return.

     If you simply want a vacation to unwind and let go of the stress this is the getaway you've been looking for.  You can pamper yourself as much as your heart desires.  Though breakfast is always included you have the option of fixing your own lunch and dinner or having Sandy do the cooking and cleanup for you.

Sandy's Little River House offers you:

*   Private bathroom ~ no sharing.  Towels and washcloths provided.  Large shower.

*   Your own mini kitchen with dining service for 4, flatware, pots & pans, two burner top-of-the-line hot plate, electric griddle, mixing bowel, measuring spoons, etc. a variety of cutlery, mini refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, even spices in the spice rack.  There will be coffee, decaf, a selection of tea bags, nondairy creamer and sugar in cabinet for your convenience.

*   Queen Sized Bed and Loveseat Sofa Bed.

*   TV screen with a selection of DVD s, deck of playing cards, dominoes, board games and jigsaw puzzles

*   Heat provided by an electric Amish area heater with its amazing infrared cells.  Does not dry out the air and always cool to the touch.

*    Mini Electric Candles

*   Battery Powered Lantern stowed in the closet for your convenience

*   Free WiFi.

*    Iron & Ironing Board in room for business travelers

*    Private Deck

*    Hammock in the trees

*   Breakfast brought to you every morning

*   Extra fishing poles if you don't have your own.  Jeff will even show you how to rig it and where the fish hide out if you're a beginner.

*   Fish Cleaning/filleting Shack ~ adjacent to the little house for your convenience.  When you use the shack you will need to take care that the fish guts, and bones if you're filleting, stay in the gut bucket.  Ask Sandy or Jeff about disposal. There is a tail clamp to assist with filleting and running water with a spray nozzle to wash your fish and rinse the cutting board area.  The cutting board area is over 5 ft. long.  (If your fish is too big for that you truly have bragging rights!) The cleanup part of the process is quite important because raw fish parts and fish blood is poisonous to dogs and will attract unwelcome insects and wild animals.  Cleanup is a breeze with this setup.

*   Sandy or Jeff will happily take a picture of you with your fish, print it out and give it to you to take back home or email it to your computer so you will always have it.

"Menus"
The following items are a sampling of what has been very popular around here.
As this is not a restaurant you will need to let Sandy know in advance if certain selections tickle your fancy and make you drool.
All food, including breakfast, will be brought to you
"room service" style and served on your own table.  During the summer time fresh produce from our vegetable garden will be included in our lunches and dinners.
