Sandy's Little River House

will present you with a totally unique experience.  IT'S QUIET!  (And very private.)  The sounds of the city are replaced by the sound of water over rocks ~ not to mention frogs, crickets and bird songs.

Walk down your porch steps and down a nonslip ramp to your own private bank on the West Fork of the Millacoma River.

Here you have access to a swimming hole or fishing hole.  There is year-round trout fishing.  This is a pristine salmon and steelhead spawning river.  You can actually watch the salmon doing their mating dance.  The winter run starts in October - Salmon, October and December.  You can watch them spawning through your front window. Steellhead  starts by they end of November and goes through March.  We have been told by local lifelong fishermen that we have the best steelhead fishing on the river.  Adjacent to the little house is a covered fish cleaning shack.

The world becomes a quiet and amazing wonderland.

These next three photos are of salmon spawning in the shallows right below the little house.  A salmon "Love Story".

These pictures were taken October 24, 2011.  It's a beautiful fall day and the fish are jumping all over the river.

In the one to the left is a Coho male with the female barely visible above and somewhat to the right.

The one below shows the same male and female.  She is above and slightly to the left.

This one shows the male fertilizing the female's eggs.

In this one you can clearly see the trench this year's salmon have created by spawning activity.
